Chimney Safety

September 27- October 3, 2010 is National Chimney Safety Week.  Chimney safety is vital to fire prevention and your family’s safety.

Safety Tips:

• Have your chimney thoroughly inspected and cleaned to make sure it is sound, free of debris, and has the correct clearances.
• Make sure your chimney has the correct amount of quality lining that is necessary.  Have this checked by hiring a chimney sweep.
• Install a thermometer to monitor the temperature within your chimney.  Keeping smaller fires is recommended.
