The most anticipated award show for films, the 83rd Academy Awards, will air February 27,2011 on ABC at 8 eastern time. This night like many other nights is filled with anticipation for the awards and the red carpet. With so many amazing movies up for nominations, it will be hard to pick the winners.
There are so many categories for the Academy Awards filled with spectacular movies. One of the main categories is Best Picture. The nominees for this category are, "Black Swan", "The Fighter", "Inception", "The Kids Are All Right", "The King's Speech", "127 Hours", "The Social Network", "Toy Story 3", "True Grit", and "Winter's Bone." Another major category is Actor In A Leading Role. The nominees for this category are, Javier Bardem in "Biutiful", Jeff Bridges in "True Grit", Jesse Eisenberg in "Social Network", Colin Firth in " The King's Speech", and James Franco in "127 Hours." Another major category is Actress In A Leading Role. The nominees are, Annette Bening in "The Kids Are All Right", Nicole Kidman in "The Rabbit Hole", Jennifer Lawrence in "Winter's Bone", Natalie Portman in "Black Swan", and Michelle Williams in "Blue Valentine."
Aside from the nominations, many can not wait to see the new fashions that arrive on the red carpet. There have already been predictions about who will wear what. One prediction is the Anne Hathaway will be expected to wear Giorgio Armani, J. Mendel, or Oscar de la Renta. Resse Witherspoon is going to be a returning presenter and many are wondering if she will be wearing Rodarte or Dior. "People Magazine" predicts the Natalie Portman will be wearing Dior Haute Couture or Chanel Haute Couture. Another prediction from People Magazine is the Halle Berry will wear Elie Saab Haute Couture or Zuhair Murad Haute Couture.
The Academy Awards will be a huge night and I'm sure that red carpet along with the winners will not disappoint anyone.
