How to save money on gas

The gas prices are getting higher and higher this year. For some people it’s been difficult to afford it. So here are some tips you can follow for saving money.

Use your smart phone app stores are full of free and paid tools for finding the cheapest gas, usually using the GPS in your phone to locate the nearest pumps.
 

Tune ’er up Sure, you’ve heard about properly inflating the tires, but to save gas you also want to have tires aligned and spark plugs working their best. Misaligned wheels are always trying to go in the wrong direction. You’re often using more gas to push them elsewhere. Some estimates say improper alignment can cost you up to 31 cents a gallon. When spark plugs wear down, you get less horsepower out of your car’s engine. That means it takes more fuel to get up to speed. Ease up every time you hit 60 mph,your gas mileage decreases. FuelEconomy.gov says for every 5 mph over 60, your gas costs around 27 cents more per mile. Follow some of these tips and you could save some money on gas!
