The brand new season of American Idol premiered Tuesday night at 8 p.m. This is the tenth season of American Idol and there have been many new changes since season nine. As some may remember, the always honest and beloved Simon Cowell left last season to work on another reality show. Ellen DeGeneres and Kara Dioguardi also left last season leaving the last original judge Randy Jackson.
This season Steven Tyler, from the band "Aerosmith", and Jennifer Lopez have joined the judging panel. Many people are happy with this trio because they all have had experience in the music business.
This new season will hopefully make up for last season's poor outcome. Last season's contestants were seen as boring and hard to remember which brought down the show's ratings. This season started off with a brand new title sequence. Other changes will be a top twelve that will consist of the best singers, unlike other years where there would be six men and six women. There have been a reported 325 contestants but only sixty of them will move on to Las Vegas. Then these lucky contestants will sing Beatles songs to which the top forty will be sent to Hollywood. This new season seems like business and the first season of American Idol that many of us loved and knew will be reflected in season ten.
