This week was my third week at the Lee Strasberg Institute of Theater and Film. In my first class, we continued to work on the same scripts from last week. We worked on them until they were perfect, and next week we will receive new scripts to work on.
In my next class, we worked on monologues, which is a dramatic speech by a single actor. The most important thing about having a monologue prepared is allowing people to see your talent. It is also important to have because if you are new to acting, your monologue is your calling card.
For this, we all went down to the school library and picked monologues from many different plays. We then went back to our classroom and read them in front of the class. Next week we will continue with these same scripts along with how to use different objectives with them.
