This was my 2nd week and my 2nd class at the Lee Strasberg Institute of Theater and Film. We worked on advancing our scenes and more of the method whereas in my first class of TV and Film, we jumped right into scene work.
This was my 2nd week and my 2nd class at the Lee Strasberg Institute of Theater and Film. We worked on advancing our scenes and more of the method whereas in my first class of TV and Film, we jumped right into scene work.
Scene work is when we get a script and decide how we will portray the character. Once our decisions are made then we practice the scene in front of the camera. We try several different approaches to see what works best.
After learning the script, we then did mock auditions on camera. A mock audition is when we step by step go over an audition. We practice from having the person doing the audition gets us from the waiting room to when the camera stops rolling. This is to ensure we are completely familiar with auditions and do they best we can to land a job.
Auditions are extremely important because without an audition there is no way of getting a job. In my next class, which is method, we worked on improvisation and method. This is so that we can get comfortable enough to use method acting in all our performances. Next week we will be working on monologue studies.
I am really enjoying this blog. Can't wait for next class.
