Annual 68th Golden Globe Awards

On January 16, 2011 the 68th Golden Globe Awards show aired on national television. It was hosted by Ricky Gervais. This star filled night began with the infamous red carpet walk. Some stars who arrived and looked amazing were  Angelina Jolie in an emerald glitter Atelier Versace gown, Carrie Underwood in a light pink sequined sweetheart dress by Badgley Mischka, and Lea Michele in a rose-colored, one shoulder Oscar de la Renta gown.
Some of the hottest new fashions were spotted on the red carpet. These new trends included the colors green, red, and light pink, floral details on dresses, black fishtail dresses, and long sleeved dresses.

           

Later on in the evening the Golden Globes proved to have its ups and downs. Many people believed that host Ricky Gervais occasionally went too far with his comments that target Angelina Jolie, Robert Downey Jr., Charlie Sheen, Bruce Willis, and the president of the HFPA. Although one positive moment that stood out to viewers was when Glee star Chris Colfer encouraged people to be different and to not listen to what people say. 

           

Awards were given to the best of the best throughout the night. The Social Network won Best  Motion Picture - Drama and the winner of Best Motion Picture - Comedy Or Musical was The Kids Are All Right. Colin Firth won Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama for The King's Speech and Natalie Portman won Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture -Drama for Black Swan. Toy Story 3 won Best Animated Feature Film and Glee won Best Television Series - Comedy or Musical.
