How to Prevent Costly Leaks

Water damage – whether caused by leaks or condensation – can do more than cause unsightly stains in your home.  It can cause permanent structural damage to the home and erode its strength.

When damage is from poor or infrequent maintenance, neglect or general deterioration, water damage isn’t covered by your insurance policy. But proper home maintenance can help you prevent messy and costly repairs to your home. Defend your home by stopping that leak before it starts.

My Adventures at the Lee Strasberg Institute - Week 5

~ contributed by Sandra Costanzo, Social Media InternThis week was my 5th week at the Lee Strasberg institute of Theater and Film. This week we focused on improv. Improv is doing a scene without a script and only based on the actors decisions and what they feel would improve the scene best.
In tv/film, we worked on our scripts that we were given last week. Since our scene partner did not show up to class, we were given the challenge of changing the whole scene from having a boy scene partner to a girl scene partner.

Act Quickly to Minimize Damage from Identity Theft

Identity thieves steal in countless ways from their victims. Victims may discover that identity thieves have made charges on or withdrawals from their accounts, opened new credit cards or taken out loans in their names, or even filed for bankruptcy using the stolen identity. Victims may find that their social security number has been used on a thief's job application, or that their name was given to police during an arrest. Identity theft victims will spend money and time - probably large amounts of each - in uncovering the extent of the damage and in repairing it, in order to restore their good name.

Sneaky Energy Wasters – Phantom Loads

Love the convenience of a remote control? Channel surfing? Turning off the air conditioner from across the room? Think about it. How many remote controls do you have in your home? How many television sets and cable boxes? These appliances remain partially on, even though they appear to be turned off. Anything that can be powered by a remote control is in some measure “on,” all day, every day, so that it is ready to receive the “on” signal from the remote.

Super Bowl XLV

~ contributed by Shannon Galaway, Social Media Intern

On Sunday, February 6, 2011, the Green Bay Packers defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium at the XLV Super Bowl. Although the main attraction to the Super Bowl is the football aspect, many others watch the Super Bowl to see the creative commercials and the musical performances.

The Super Bowl is the biggest event for commercials. This year it cost three million dollars for a company to have their commercial aired for thirty seconds. Some of these commericals were creative and entertaining while others were downright horrible. One commercial that had many people talking was the Ozzy Osborn and Justin Bieber commercial,

Winter, Driving & Snow

~ contributed by Sage Creamer, Social Media Intern
As winter comes so does a lot of snow. This year we got tons of it and it felt like it would never stop. When it snows you have to be careful of the icy roads and the snow on the ground. To be a safe driver in the bad weather conditions follow some of these tips.  Don't go out until the snow plows and sanding trucks have had a chance to do their work, and allow yourself extra time to reach your destination. It's helpful to practice winter driving techniques in a snowy, open parking lot, so you're familiar with how your car handles.

~ contributed by Sandra Costanzo, Social Media Intern

This week was my fourth week at the Lee Strasberg Institute Of Theater and Film.

In the first class which was TV and Film, we started off our class with vocal warm ups. This is to make sure our pronunciation and dictation is enormously clear. After we were relaxed and focused, we started on new scripts. We once again worked on the new scripts as mock auditions.
